Had an awesome time last Saturday exploring Eastern State Penitentiary. Now check it out through Sut's iPhone. -- @brilliantartistry, Jarrett Hendrix

June's CityLove celebration in Philadelphia included 20 events (exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, Instameets, special events, etc.) throughout the city over eight days. To date, more than 2,700 photos have been tagged with #CityLovePHL! Wow. Philly, you've truly stolen our heart.

We highlighted a few of our initial tour spots in our previous CityLovePHL post, but this week we wanted to share some of our favorite photos. Though these snapshots certainly don't cover every stop we made, we hope you enjoy getting to see a bit more of our Philadelphia fun -- and are inspired to visit and explore these incredible sites yourself!

If anyone needs me, I'll be in the Frank Lloyd Wright synagogue. #citylovephl #savingplaces #franklloydwright -- @mauleofamerica, Bradley Male

Confession: Frank Lloyd Wright was on our minds (since Spring House was part of our 11 Most Endangered Historic Places list), so we jumped at the chance to tour his 1954 Beth Sholom Synagogue. Now a National Historic Landmark, the inclined walls of translucent fiberglass and plastic are considered to be a Modernist twist on an ancient temple.

Thank you @savingplaces #citylovephl rules. #graffittipier #urbanexploration -- @brandifitzarts

Graffiti Pier, or the Graffiti Underground, is actually a former coal pier for Conrail, which abandoned it in 1991 when they moved their coal operation to Baltimore. The site is now an ideal location for street and graffiti artists to practice their work. Protruding into the Delaware River, the site has stunning views of Center City Philadelphia and passing river traffic.

Philadelphia City Hall, completed in 1901, is the largest municipal building in the U.S., containing almost 700 rooms and over 1,000 employees. On top is a 37-foot-tall bronze statue of city founder William Penn; the statue is the tallest atop any building in the world. Each corner of the building has an six-story interior staircase similar to the one pictured here.

Cliveden, a site of the National Trust, is located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Built between 1763 and 1767, Cliveden was occupied by the British during the Battle of Germantown, when British Colonel Musgrave fought off General George Washington's troops from within the house with muskets and bayonets.

I was one of 12 lucky @savingplaces raffle winners who got a private tour of the #easternstatepenitentiary Watch Tower! It was an incredible journey up and a spectacular view. -- @dccitygirl

Eastern State Penitentiary is a former prison (operational from 1829-1971) now operated as a historic site. At its completion, it was the largest and most expensive public structure ever erected. With its radical floor plan and use of the "Pennsylvania System" of separate confinement as form of rehabilitation, Eastern State inspired the designs of more than 300 prisons worldwide.

Mausoleum of Drexel, Woodlands. Blue glass skylight. #CityLovePHL #savingplaces #woodlandsphil -- @mycombs, Michael Holmes

Drexel is a big name in Philadelphia, and as part of our evening at The Woodlands, visitors got go inside the Drexel Mausoleum with its distinctive blue skylight. Actively used today, the cemetery, mansion, landscape, and programs of The Woodlands are an educational resource for local school children, community residents, university students, and scholars.

Closing party for #CityLovePHL at the Foundry, Philadelphia Salvage. Thanks @savingplaces for loving up on #Philly this week. @giveit2lloyd @grantrstevens -- @maillieable, Liz Maillie

Our week of fun wrapped up with a party at Philadelphia Salvage's custom design space, the Foundry, on Friday night. With music, beverages, and the perfect combination of industrial heritage (aka dust and grime) surrounding attendees, it was a great way to close our week of city-loving in Philadelphia.

Be sure to check out the #CityLovePHL hashtag on Instagram for a view of all the photos, and follow @SavingPlaces to learn about future CityLove projects!
